Centenary was Brisbane’s first 50-metre pool and high diving board and remains one of the city’s principal aquatic-sports centre. The multi-tiered diving pool has boards at three, five and ten metres. The top level has been out of action for years now, but kids bounce off the lower springboards, while others creep along the five-metre platform with trepidation, like they are walking the plank on a pirate ship.
